International Men’s Day in 2025 also saw the UK Government release their first ever Men’s Health Strategy.

The Strategy sets out the Government’s aims to develop health services and support for men and boys across the UK over the next ten years and beyond.

MAN v FAT has been involved in lobbying and consultation to support the shape of the Strategy and shared feedback from our community in the Call For Evidence earlier in 2025.

Here’s our initial feedback from what’s been included:-

MAN v FAT are delighted to see that there is now a dedicated Men’s Health Strategy and are excited to see what this means in practice for men in the UK.

We believe it is critical that health services are relevant and accessible for men and this is something that MAN v FAT as an organisation has been championing for the last eleven years. We realised that there was a true barrier to men making changes to their diets, physical activity levels and managing their mental health, so it is great to see that policy is now catching up with some of the innovators in the men’s health sector.

We are particularly pleased to see increasing resources around suicide prevention and mental health, something that statistics show is clearly necessary for men of all ages, and it is also encouraging that the strategy has explicitly set out an aim to move from sickness to prevention.

Supporting preventative health will mean we have less men needing to access the more critical ends of health service provision and reduce the strain in these areas – something that will benefit not only men but the wider population too.

We look forward to working with the government and other partners in the men’s health sector to ensure that this policy is brought to life for the men and boys of the UK.

We will continue to advocate for our community, whilst developing MAN v FAT as a best in class offer for men seeking support around weight and wellbeing.
