I didn’t start walking because I was feeling great—I started because I was recovering from a back injury.
At the time, I couldn’t do much. Even standing for long periods was uncomfortable. But I knew I had to move. I knew I had to do something. So, I set a simple, but powerful goal: walk to the top of Ramapo River Trace, a road about a mile from my house.
That goal felt huge at the time. I couldn’t do it all at once. For several days, I took shorter walks—just to the end of the driveway, around the block, then a little further each day. I built strength, confidence, and momentum one walk at a time.
Eventually, I reached the top of that road. It wasn’t just a physical milestone—it was emotional. I proved to myself that I could recover. That I could rebuild. That I could move forward.
That experience taught me something important: you don’t need a perfect plan—just the courage to start where you are.

You don’t have to change your entire life overnight. You just have to take one step. Then another. That’s how real transformation happens—not in giant leaps, but in consistent, simple actions.
The journey to better health, improved fitness, and a stronger mindset starts with a single walk. And once you experience the benefits, you’ll want to keep going.
