Our friends and partners at Sensapure Flavors continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in beverage formulation. At Natural Products Expo West 2025, the company showcased its Spring concept line, introducing a series of beverages that show their incredible flavor profiles atop functional ingredients, without compromise.
As Sensapure gets more heavily into these concept developments, they’re increasingly using some of our favorite ingredients, with each one bringing its own challenges for Sensapure to overcome. And they’re doing that in true form:

The Spring 2025 collection features a diverse range of solutions addressing today’s most sought-after consumer needs:
PURE Energy: Clean Energy with Premium Flavor
Leading the lineup is PURE Energy, a carbonated Green Apple energy drink that brings together cutting-edge energy and nootropic ingredients with a very clean taste profile. this beverage features Cognizin® citicoline for enhanced mental clarity, enfinity® paraxanthine for sustained energy without jitters, and OnoSweet, a fermented Reb M sweetener that delivers natural sweetness without the characteristic bitter aftertaste often found in stevia-based products.
Sensapure’s flavor system manages to highlight the crisp green apple notes while completely masking the typically challenging flavor profiles of the above ingredients, especially the paraxanthine (which, like other xanthines, is bitter). In our visit to Sensapure in 2024, we brought them some paraxanthine, and showed them masking it:
PURE K: The Art of Relaxation
For the growing relaxation beverage market, PURE K offers a Lavender Lemonade experience that’s both refreshing and functional. Enhanced with the popular botanical, KSM-66 Ashwagandha, this carbonated creation perfectly balances the tartness of lemonade with subtle lavender notes to create a unique and soothing sensory experience.
“The challenge with relaxation beverages is creating something that tastes good enough that consumers will actually want to drink it regularly,” explains Sensapure’s flavor development team. “Our lavender lemonade system successfully masks the earthy notes of ashwagandha while creating a beverage that feels genuinely premium.”

Sensapure Flavors introduces its beverage concepts, including PURE K, PURE M, PURE B, PURE R, and of course their Lemonade flavor in XPO NRG. These drinks mask functional ingredients naturally while delivering bold, refreshing flavors.

PURE B: Reinventing the Orange Cream Soda for Gut Health
The PURE B concept reimagines the classic orange creamsicle flavor in a gut health-focused formulation. With active probiotics and prebiotic fiber, this low-calorie, zero-added-sugar beverage demonstrates Sensapure’s mastery of flavor layering techniques.
The flavor profile achieves something rarely seen in the functional beverage space: a perfectly balanced creamy mouthfeel in a shelf-stable format, with no dairy ingredients required. The result is a nostalgic flavor experience that delivers modern health benefits.
PURE R: Evening Relaxation Beverage

PURE Balance: A Next-Generation Yogurt Beverage?!

Sensapure Flavors predicts major 2025 flavor trends: Aromatics like elderflower and lavender, exotic fruits, and natural spices lead functional beverage innovation. Plus their new OMVE pilot plant changes the development game.
Completing the Spring 2025 lineup is PURE Balance, a Peach Cobbler-flavored yogurt drink that elevates the traditional drinkable yogurt concept with enhanced nutrition! This functional beverage combines real yogurt with a protein blend (whey and soy) and 10g of dietary fiber, while delivering a substantial 21g of protein per serving.
The technical achievement in this one is how Sensapure created a truly dessert-like flavor experience without compromising nutritional integrity. The peach cobbler profile features distinct layers of fresh peach, warm baking spices, and buttery pastry notes… all while maintaining stability in a yogurt-based beverage that can be aseptically packaged for extended shelf life without refrigeration.
We may not see drinks like this in the sports nutrition space, but this is the kind of product that can absolutely take off in grocery!
Creating an authentic baked good flavor profile in a yogurt base presents unique challenges — the acids in the yogurt can quickly degrade certain flavor components, especially delicate top notes that make a peach cobbler experience authentic. The formula combines fermented butyrate, whey protein isolate, and a specific fiber blend that activates endogenous GLP-1 production.
