This year’s Week Without Driving was the most successful yet! Local organizations, elected and public officials, and advocates and individuals from across the United States and even internationally participated to bring attention to how our transportation systems fail to serve nondrivers.
While we’re still crunching the data — and collecting more in our survey! — we’re thrilled to share some preliminary numbers:
(Keep in mind that these aren’t final numbers!)
575 local organizations in 50 states and Washington, D.C., and internationally (Canada and Australia) participated in Week Without Driving 2025.
879 elected and public officials from 47 states and Washington, D.C., as well as internationally (Canada and Australia), participated in this year’s Week Without Driving.
1,367 advocates and individuals participated in 49 states, Washington, D.C., and internationally (Canada, Australia, and England) participated in Week Without Driving 2025.
5,162 mentions across social media, online news outlets, broadcasts, YouTube, and blogs.
This means that this year’s Week Without Driving saw an impressive increase in engagement, momentum, the number of local champions participating, and change!
Engagement and visibility are critical for the Week Without Driving movement. More people, organizations, and officials coming together to demand that our transportation systems serve nondrivers means more voices and opportunities for impact and change.
We want to hear about how this work is making a difference in your community.
